Photograph & Photographer of the year

For the Photograph & Photographer of the year members are invited to submit a maximum of four images taken during 2022. 

 

The membership then choose their own top five, ranked in order of preference, and the results are revealed at the Circle’s Annual General Meeting.

 

The A.G.M. was held on 26th February 2023 via Zoom.

Congratulations to Kim Fullbrook winning photograph of the year for 2022. 

Ballasting

Kims’ entry depicted ballast being dropped on the new East – West route. A strong composition with locomotive 66571 catching sun on the nose as it emerges from the dust cloud.

Waterloo

Second place was awarded to Mark Lawrence who produced this multiple exposure image of the concourse at London Waterloo very much conveying movement at a busy Central London station.

The Ghost Train

Nigel Power gained third place with his evocative image of Sprinter 150005 crossing the Whalley Arches, near Clitheroe, in thick fog.

The Passing Place

Class 43 sets pass at Yatton Loops in North Somerset at 15:55hrs on Sunday 13 November 2022. 

Lincoln Azuma

Class 800 Azuma set no. 800203 of LNER arrives in Lincoln on the morning of Saturday 18 June 2022. This train was 1B80, the London Kings Cross (0806hrs) to Lincoln service.

Into the Light

On the evening of Monday 29 August 2022, Class 66 loco no. 66077 of DB Cargo heads down the line at Flax Bourton in North Somerset.
