Time Warp.

Duties almost done for the day. The driver of Resita 0-8-0 764 421 sets back to finish his shunting manoeuvres.
This shot was taken in a logging yard in the NE of Romania not to far from the Ukrainian border at Villa de Sus.
There are four operational narrow gauge steam locos and 4 narrow gauge diesel hydraulic diesel locos. The diesels work the lions share of the log trains over the 40 km network a steam loco will be dragged into service from time to time to cover for failures but their primary duties are hauling tourist trains in the summer over the very dubious track.
The best chance of seeing a steam loco in action is in the logging plant yards adjacent to the depot where one will be in steam most days.
Who would of thought you could see such things in Europe in 2021.
