Piggy in the middle

As part of its 10th Anniversary celebrations the Ribble Steam Railway elected to use a steam locomotive on the transfer working of bitumen tanks between the Preston Discharge Siding and the Preston Dock Interchange yard supported by an air-brake fitted diesel shunter. This scene is of the Colas Class 60 entering the yard with the loaded tanks whilst the diesel shunter waits to draw the first half of the train out of the yard so that the steam locomotive on the empty tanks can attach to the rear then haul the consist to the Discharge Siding.
