Blowing snow and bitter cold
A high-priority double-stack intermodal train bound for California is climbing out of the James River Valley at Turners in southwest Missouri. A major snowstorm that affected over thirty of the fifty states dumped almost a foot of cold, dry snow in Springfield. With a temperature of -8 Fahrenheit, a 15-20 mph wind, and heavy snowfall, it didn't take much to disturb the powdery snow and reduce the visibility even more.
